Hunan New Teaching Materials Co., Ltd was established on the basis of the former teaching materials center of Hunan Pressing Group in September 2003, specializing in the publicity, generalization as well as the training service of trial teaching materials of national course standard developed by the publishing houses under the Group.

It has now 39 employees, 2 of which have doctor¡¯s degree and 95% of which have undergraduate degree. According to the marketing characteristics of new teaching materials and the market performance and target responsibility, the Company has designed market-oriented and service market-oriented organization framework, and set up 11 large marketing regions (nowadays, 5 large regions of class A, 3 large regions of


class B and 3 large regions of class C) and three management departments (1 management department of class A, 2 management department of class B). It has also set up gradient employee development mechanism and flexible employment mechanism in accordance with modern enterprise system, and formulated and implemented the performance-oriented dynamic salary system.

According to the market competition situation of new teaching materials, it has formulated in good time the marketing strategy of ¡°Maximizing Market and Profit¡±, and specified the business concept of ¡°Lower cost, Higher Efficiency, and More Achievements¡±. Every year it will make full and scientific demonstration to the market target, marketing strategy, operation way and cost budget and it has formulated considerable and detailed implementation scheme. With the guide and strong support of the Group, it has generalized the trial teaching materials of national course standard in the whole country and obtained span-type development through employee¡¯s mutual effort. By fall in 2005 and early 2006, the trial teaching materials of national compulsory education course standard are going to be sold on the markets out of Hunan Province. In 26 provinces, cities and autonomous regions throughout the country, there are 3980 trial regions using the new teaching materials published in Hunan. The trial teaching materials of national course standard for senior high school students have been sold on 400 trial counties and regions in 5 provinces such as Guangdong, Shandong, and so on. There are about 41,000,000 middle school students and pupils in China using the trial teaching materials of national course standard published by the Group. And the production value of new teaching materials reaches 530 million RMB in the whole year.

Through years¡¯ effort, the teaching materials center has organized a training expert team composed of 260 members, including core members of national course standard group, compiling experts of teaching materials and teaching experts in each subject, built the service support system for new courses, and new teaching materials that is based on the gradient advance of ¡°Pre-service Training, Teaching Callback, Teaching & Research Support, Assessment of Teaching Materials, and Subject Study¡±. It also reinforces the construction of trial example bases in China, which effectively boosts the integration of publishing resources and education resources, winning the recognition of trial regions. Through implementing the marketing, generalization and training service, the new teaching materials of the Group have become the brand with a bigger influence in new teaching material markets in China.
