Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House is closely concerned with development and popularization of modern arts. In recent years, the Publishing House has brought out a series of popularized exquisite books，such as A History of Arts in New China, A History of Chinese Modern Arts from 1990 to 1999, A Series on Tendencies in Chinese Modern Arts and A Series of Commentary on Paintings and Calligraphy in China. As regard to folk arts, after the publication of Complete Works of Folk Fine Arts in Hunan, the Publishing House has introduced A Series on Local Handicraftsmen, Folk Shadowgraph in China, Modern Paper-cut in China, Folk Paper-cut in China and The Art of Dough Figurine in the Yellow River Valley, which have attracted publishers’ attention at home and from abroad. In 2005, Land published by the Publishing House was awarded the title of the Finest Books in the World.

In the trade of copyrights, the Publishing House has devotes more to modern arts, folk fine arts, fine arts education, artistic designs and calligraphy and has signed many contracts of buying and selling copyrights with many publishers from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan and Taiwan in corresponding fields. Since 1990s, with the support of the French Embassy, incorporating with Midnight Publishing House from France, the Publishing House has brought about A Series of Tentative Arts including 20 different books resounded strongly at home and abroad.

Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House has nearly a network of 800 marketing stations all over the country and an experienced team of salesmen. The Publishing House is willing to share its resource with publishers from other parts of the world.
